Q: Why has the chime on my Enso Pearl suddenly deteriorated?

A degradation of the sound quality is an indication that the battery is low. Please replace the two AAA batteries with new Alkaline or Lithium cells. We have found that higher capacity batteries such as those from Duracell or Energizer perform best in our clocks. With the batteries replaced, your Enso Pearl should chime clearly again.

Q: Why does the Enso Pearl not function after replacing the batteries?

The type and age of the batteries greatly affects the functioning of the Enso Pearl. All batteries are not created equal. There are multiple formulations for batteries with differing performance characteristics. The strongest batteries are typically Alkaline or Lithium in composition. It is also easy to just stick to the major brands such as Duracell or Energizer as these work well in the Enso Pearl. Batteries also naturally lose their charge over time so older cells will not perform as well as newer ones.

Q: Can I use rechargeable batteries in the Enso Pearl?

Rechargeable batteries differ greatly in their composition with varying capacities and power levels. We have encountered a few cases in which customers have not had great success in using rechargeable batteries. However, other customers have found that Eneloop rechargeable batteries work well with the Enso Pearl. Please be sure to fully charge the batteries before using them with your clock.

Q: How do I remove the battery door on the back of the Enso Pearl?

The battery door can initially be tough to remove as it is a pretty tight fit. We recommend pressing down on the small triangle just below the Salubrion logo on the battery door and then sliding in the direction of the arrow to remove the door. If this does not work, we have also found it helpful to press the edge of a credit card into the long groove that is just below the small triangle. This will help to release the locking clip so that the battery door can be removed.

Q: What do I do if the stand on the back of my clock has broken?

The stand on the back of our clocks was designed to fail gracefully. Thus, if the stand breaks it can easily be replaced with a new part. Please send us a message with your shipping address as well as your Enso model (Enso Clock or Enso Pearl) and we would be happy to send you a replacement free of charge.

Q: Why does my timer countdown one second and then stop?

If the timer counts down one second and then appears to freeze the timer is probably setup as an Hour:Minute Timer. Thus, the timer is displaying hours and minutes on the screen. After waiting a minute you will see that the timer display has counted down another minute. If you prefer to have a Minute:Second Timer, please change the mode of the timer.

Q: What different timing modes are available in the Enso Pearl?

The Enso Pearl's timers can be configured as either Interval or Repeat countdown timers. An Interval Timer is a set of sequential timers (Intervals) that will countdown one after the other. Interval Timers can be programmed with up to 50 Intervals. A Repeat Timer will countdown a single time period for up to 99 repetitions. The Enso Pearl can also be setup to display a timer in either Hours and Minutes or Minutes and Seconds. A count-up stopwatch timing mode is also available.

Q: How do you change a Timer's mode?

You can change the mode of each of the T1, T2, and T3 timers to suit your needs. To cycle through the different timer modes, press and release the button (T1, T2, or T3) of the timer that you desire to change. This will display the selected timer on-screen. Then press and hold the Timer (hourglass) button for a few seconds until you see the timer reset to a different mode. Please note the hour:minute or minute:second labels as well as the Interval or Repeat indicator. Repeat the pressing and holding of the Timer button to further change the timer mode.

Q: Does the clock work in both 12- and 24-hour format?

The clock can display time in either 12- or 24-hour format.

Q: Is there a backlight?

The Enso Pearl's display has a dim backlight that will illuminate the screen in a dark room. Pressing the Enso button will turn on the backlight for a few seconds before it is automatically turned off. Due to power limitations of the clock's batteries the backlight cannot be illuminated continuously.

Q: What type of batteries does the Enso Pearl use?

The Enso Pearl uses two AAA batteries. We recommend non-rechargeable Alkaline or Lithium batteries for optimal performance of your clock's chimes.

Q: How long do the batteries in the Enso Pearl last?

The Enso Pearl's battery life is greatly affected by how frequently you use the chimes. We have found that most customers experience about a year's worth of usage before the batteries need to be replaced.

Q: Where is the Enso Pearl manufactured?

The Enso Pearl is manufactured through our partners in Southern China. We maintain our own office in Hong Kong to continuously work with our manufacturing partners, ensuring that our products are crafted with the highest quality.
